It is the end of this era of our much-loved Picture House’s life: we are closing for renovations and throwing an almighty “Closing for Reno’s Extravaganza” bash to celebrate!
Since first opening in 1950 the public has never been given the opportunity to be part of the theatre’s history, and we are about to change that.
Come along and write your love letter to the Picture House on a piece of her skin (or walls, if you want the unromantic term). This is your once in a lifetime chance to contribute to a living piece of art that will be documented for historical purposes and maybe even feature in the new Picture House interior when we reopen. Or your ‘love letter’ maybe a handwritten note that could be added to a time capsule of Picture House memorabilia to be unearthed in another 50 years’ time?
Drop in any time from 1pm–5pm for an afternoon of fun and memories, as we bid farewell to our old Picture House (don’t worry, the beautiful face you have come to know and love won’t be changing; it’s more of a nip and tuck) and get excited for all the wonderful new things to come.
The afternoon will be filled with all the things you have come to expect from the Picture House… live music in the garden, kids’ activities, special surprise pop up performances, great food, good friends and good times.
Come bid the Picture House farewell before we start our renovations!
