Ladies and gentlestems, bulbs and girls, it’s time to twist and sprout with THE VEGETABLE PLOT, an award-winning live music band for kids, families and foodies.
Their radical mission: to get kids to fall in love with vegetables! Their philosophy is simple — making earthy, joyful music designed to appeal to adults as much as kids.
More than just a bunch of singers and pickers, these funky soil brothers and sisters have been plucked from the ground by aliens from the planet Wambamboobaloo and sent back to earth on a mission of love and “peas”.
Serving up a feast of fresh grooves, catchy tunes, colourful characters and truly rotten puns, these green crusaders will ensure you never think about roots music or vegetables the same way again. We just know you’re going to dig them! So come and join Aspara Gus, Ru Barb and Sir Paul McCarrotney as they take you deep underground for a ride on the soil train.
Winner of the 2014 Sydney Fringe Festival Kids Award. It was an exciting 2018 for the Vegetable Plot: the group teamed up with Healthy Kids Association and NSW Health to record the theme song to The Big Vegie Crunch, an annual event in which primary school kids all over NSW attempt to break the record for most kids eating veggies simultaneously. Close to 60,000 school kids took part in “the crunch” on 1 March 2018, almost doubling the previous record.
The Vegetable Plot has recently completed its groovy second album, Season 2!
